the problem with rats and mice
Rodents are a major pest everywhere because of the diseases they transmit and the damage they cause.
A recent UK Survey suggests that 1 in 15 food premises is rat infested, higher still for mice. Adaptable to most environments they live in colonies of ‘extended families’ and are capable of rapid reproduction. For this reason Ecolab recommends monthly visits for effective elimination.
Look out for
- Droppings: Dark brown rat droppings about 2cm long, usually found in corners. Small 0.5cm droppings which are scattered widely.
- Gnawed materials
- Musty smell
- Urine pillars
- Tracks
- Hairs
- Burrows
